Online Marketing

An important part to strengthening the customer base of any business is to build your online brand. Online marketing, as the name suggests, is all about getting the word out online about your business. A successful online marketing campaign invests in all areas of marketing to ensure that you are using all the right tools and avenues to get your brand visible to your target audience.
A significant aspect of online marketing today is online mobile marketing. Any good online marketing campaign has to have a robust strategy for mobile marketing. More and more people are using their smartphones to access the internet and this means that the businesses who want to cater to these folk need to get their word out on this platform.

1. Messaging users via Bluetooth
Businesses that have a retail store can configure their stores to send out a message to all the shoppers in the area who have a Bluetooth enabled handset. You will have to put up friendly signs asking customers to turn on their Bluetooth in discoverable mode for the ‘surprise’ that your store will be sending them.

2. Get social
Social media is where most people source their information from today. You’ll find that it is easy enough to subscribe to a plan with all of the major social media giants of today to create a social profile and to have your page / profile promoted so that it is more visible to the right users.

4. Ask users to download your app
Online marketing studies have found that the majority of consumers today prefer to download an app related to a business, that would have dedicated information on it, rather than have to visit the business’ website using their web browser. You can invest some money in having a good developer come up with an eye pleasing yet simple app that will give your potential customers all the information they need to do business with you. You can also set the app to release timely notifications any time there is an offer running or a new product available. Make sure that these apps are available on the play store of all the major mobile OS players. In case you cannot invest in an app, you can choose to advertise in other apps by signing up for a mobile marketing strategy. This is called ‘in-app marketing’ and is available as a subscription based model.

6. Email marketing
The old methods worked for a reason. Over time, customers have shown that they like to be engaged in different methods and email is definitely one of the methods that needs to be employed along with the rest. You can have a newsletter out regularly that people can subscribe to via your site.

The basic focus of online marketing remains as the customer. Make sure your entire online campaign is customer focused. Think from the perspective of your customer, look at what interests your customer and try to engage them as much as you can with a good online marketing strategy.
